About Alder Brittanys

  • Owners and breeders of quality Brittanys located in Northern Ohio.
  • We compete with our dogs in AKC field trials and conformation shows.
  • We are Active members of the Buckeye, Pennsylvania and American Brittany Clubs.
      • Dan has served several terms as President of the Buckeye Brittany Club, and is a Regional Director of the American Brittany Club.  He is also a licensed AKC field trial judge.
      • All of our dogs are hunted frequently, including at least one trip a year to South Dakota.  A long week pursuing spooky birds over rough terrain separates the pups from the bird dogs and is the number one way we evaluate our breeding stock.  Performance in competition, health and temperament tells us the rest of the story.
About Us
We're Dan and Allison, a lawyer and a veterinarian, living with our son and other animals on a small farm outside of Cleveland.  When we're not working, we're training or competing with our dogs.
Our Farm
Allison and Dan have a small farm with enough room to train dogs and keep a few other animals.  Along with our dogs, we keep two cats, two horses, two cows, chickens, turkeys, quail and pigeons.  See pictures of our farm here.

  • Tucker wins big     We're very proud of Alder All Tundra Devil Tuktu "Tucker," owned and handled by first-time Brittany owner Bob Puerner, for winning the Amateur Gun Dog stake at the Michigan Brittany Club on Saturday.  Tucker is out of our Charlie and Dee Hempfield's Allie.  Dee co-bred the litter with us and did an outstanding job starting the pups.      Bob has worked very hard with Tucker, who won the dual dog award at the 2013 Central Futurity.  He's an exciting dog to watch and we look forward to seeing him run at his first Gun Dog Nationals this fall.

  • Like Mother, Like Daughter It was a great weekend for Alder Brittanys, with two big wins that took place on opposite ends of the country.  First, Alder Sophie Brook (pictured left), handled by her owner Dan Campbell, won a 20 dog open gun dog stake put on by the Wasatch Front Brittany Club in Elberta, Utah.  Dan sent us the good news while we were at the Buckeye Brittany Club trial in Dresden, Ohio.  Not to be outdone by her daughter (even from 1,830 miles away), our FC AFC High Hopes Little Ann put down a beautiful run, winning a 26 dog open gun dog stake.  Both Sophie and Annie are now qualified to run in both the Open and Amateur Gun Dog ...

-Dedicated to competing with and breeding the finest Brittanys for field, show and home

-Competition shows us which dogs are worthy of being bred

-We breed for health, temperament, hunting ability and looks

-All of our dogs are family dogs and live in the house

- We prefer our dogs run big but they will all handle to a hunter on foot
