About Alder Brittanys

  • Owners and breeders of quality Brittanys located in Northern Ohio.
  • We compete with our dogs in AKC field trials and conformation shows.
  • We are Active members of the Buckeye, Pennsylvania and American Brittany Clubs.
      • Dan has served multiple terms as President of the Buckeye Brittany Club, and is a former Regional Director of the American Brittany Club.  He is also a licensed AKC field trial judge.
      • All of our dogs are hunted frequently, including annual trips to South Dakota and Michigan.  Pursuing wild pheasants, sharptails, ruffed grouse and woodcock through rough terrain separates the pups from the bird dogs and is the number one way we evaluate our breeding stock.  Performance in competition, health and temperament tells us the rest of the story.
About Us
We're Dan and Allison, a lawyer and a veterinarian, living with our two children and other animals on a small farm outside of Cleveland.  When we're not working, we're training or competing with our dogs.
Our Farm
Allison and Dan have a small farm with enough room to train dogs and keep a few other animals.  Along with our dogs, we keep two cats, two horses, two cows, two pigs, chickens, turkeys, quail and pigeons.  See pictures of our farm here.

Alder Brittanys Recent News

  • Annie Wins AGD Nationals! Annie made her last run at nationals a great one and brought home the blue in the 2016 Amateur Gun Dog Championship!  She's placed in this event three times previously including two runner ups and a third.  The win was especially impressive when you consider she's ten years old and had a litter of puppies five months earlier.  Annie's AKC name is now NAGDC GAFC FC AFC High Hopes Little Ann.  That's a lot of titles for a little dog!

  • With five week old pups on the ground, Annie takes second at Pennsylvania Brittany Club      FC AFC High Hopes Little Ann "Annie" put down one of her more memorable runs today and was rewarded with second place in the Open Gun Dog stake at the Pennsylvania Brittany Club.  This qualifies her for amateur and open gun dog nationals in the fall.       We didn't have anything to run at the trial this weekend so we stuck Annie in the gun dog stakes to give us something to do.  Keep in mind, she's nine years old, weaned a litter of pups six days ago and hasn't been off the couch since hunting season ended in December.  She put down an impressive performance.  You could see her start to hurt and run out of steam ...
